REGIONAL PLAN FOR SOUTHERN ALBERTA
The Government of Alberta has posted an online workbook available at www.landuse.alberta.ca for you to share your feedback on the South Saskatchewan Regional Advisory Council's (RAC's) advice on developing a regional plan for southern Alberta. You now have until April 30, 2012 to fill out the phase 2 South Saskatchewan Regional Plan workbook. The online workbook provides Albertans with an opportunity to provide input on the South Saskatchewan Regional Advisory Council’s Advice to the Government of Alberta for the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan. You will also have the opportunity to provide input during stakeholder and public sessions held throughout the region in February/March 2012.
The extended workbook deadline recognizes that the government’s task force on property rights is meeting with stakeholders this month and will conduct open houses in January to listen to Albertan’s property rights concerns.
The news release provides more information on the workbook extension. For more information about regional planning, the Land-use Framework and the Alberta Land Stewardship Act visit www.landuse.alberta.ca
Please keep in mind as you fill out the workbook that you're commenting on the RAC's advice, not a government document. This is an important building block in the development of the regional plan - your input during all three phases of the consultation process and the RAC's advice will influence the development of the final plan.
