Policy News: Port of Wild Horse Remains on Summer Hours Until October 31

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations reminds travelers the Port of Wild Horse, Montana, will continue to operate on summer hours through October 31.  The port is open from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily.

On November 1, the port will resume the daily winter schedule of 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Wild Horse, Montana, is a CBP permit port, which means that a cargo permit is required to import commercial merchandise into the U.S. through this port.  Permits must be approved in advance of cargo arrival. The CBP Area Port of Great Falls, which processes permit applications, has implemented a streamlined process to facilitate permit approvals. The Economic Development Alliance of Southeast Alberta scooped up four prestigious marketing awards at this year's Economic Developers Association of Canada conference.

1)     Brand identity, for the EDA re-branding

2)     Best Ad campaign, for Savour the Southeast Eat local week

3)     1st place for Events, for the iUVS virtual conference 2012

4)     Sustainable marketing initiative, for the iUVS virtual conference (this a new award for this year)

Date Change for Chamber's Municipal Election Forums for Business

The Medicine Hat and District Chamber of Commerce's Municipal Election forums for Business will now be held on October 8 and 9th, only.  The first evening will be for new candidates for councillor, and the second for incumbent council candidates and mayoral candidates. 

Both evenings will commence at 7 pm in the Medicine Hat College theatre, and all are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Member News: Human Resources Research at the University of Lethbridge

The University of Lethbridge Human Resource Research project focuses on supervisor-subordinate relationships and some important employee work outcomes (e.g., satisfaction and commitment, job performance, innovative performance, and citizenship behavior). Stated precisely, what kind of supervisor-subordinate relationship is effective in modern organizations?

Each survey takes between 15-20 minutes to complete for the supervisor and 30 minutes for the employee. Upon completion of the project, we will provide you with an overall summary of the results, not individual responses to ensure the organization and employees are kept anonymous.   Read More…
