HAT Smart launches 2019 Residential Incentive Program

The City of Medicine Hat announced the launch of its 2019 Residential Incentive Program with energy conservation and renewable energy savings for City of Medicine Hat utility customers. This year the new central air conditioner incentive will allow residents to cool their homes in a more efficient manner. ENERGY STAR air conditioners with a SEER rating of 16 or higher qualify for this rebate. Residents will also see the return of funding for the installation of solar panels on residential property. HAT Smart allows the solar incentive to be stacked with the funding provided by the provincial incentive program through Energy Efficiency Alberta (EEA).

Also returning for 2019 are the incentives geared towards new home construction. The EnerGuide Rating for New homes encourages the construction of more energy efficient homes.  The energy efficient dryers and popular Scratch & Win program are also continuing through 2019. Scratch & Win allows residents to win back the cost of numerous small ticket energy conservation items. With over fifty items to chose from, there is plenty of opportunites to get money back.
